What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care addresses and supports neuromusculoskeletal health. That means that we assess, diagnose, and treat issues related to the nervous system, muscles, connective tissue, bones, and joints. It involved so much more than adjusting spines (although that is often an integral part of our care plans)! Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) are primary care physicians who have the same years of training as a medical doctor but with a focus on manual therapy and conservative management rather than acute and infectious disease and pharmacology.
At AltaVie, we take an evidence-informed multimodal approach to holistic health. The care our chiropractors provide is a blend of treatment techniques specific to the patient and problem being addressed. We take time to ask questions and figure out exactly what is going on and why so that we can develop a customized treatment plan that is right for you (or your little). We take a whole-person approach, applying our head, heart, and hands to support your physical, chemical, and emotional health.
All of the chiropractors at AltaVie have training and experience in paediatric and maternity health. It is our jam. We are very well versed in a variety of techniques and treatment options that allow us to work with special populations, including infants, children, teens, and adults. Our adult care focuses almost exclusively on the perinatal period, meaning from preconception through pregnancy to postnatal rehab.
If you do not fall under the pediatric or perinatal umbrellas, do not worry. There are lots of really great Chiropractors in Kelowna who work with non-pregnant adults and young athletes. Give the office a call if you would like some health connecting with a chiropractic in Kelowna who can help you reach your goals.
